‘Calling the Shots’ is hitting the big screen at ACMI
Join us as we showcase the talent, dedication and stories of the youth of Mildura on the big screen at ACMI, Federation Square on May 2, from 3.45pm.

ACMI and Phunktional are screening the three short films that make up the Calling the Shots series, as well as hosting a panel discussion after the films. This special event will be opened by Noel Tovey AM with Wesley Enoch joining us as emcee and panel host.
Panelists will include:
Morgan Appleby – Morgan was the Locl Area Coordinator for the Calling the Shots project as well as a participant in the films.
Simon Green. Simon is the director of the films Ankle Breakers and Picking the Musical.
Oriel Guthrie. Oriel is the director of the film For Stacey.
Joe Hurst. Joe is a mentor to many youths in the area and has a great insight into the issues raised in the films.
Phillip Murray (aka Philly). Philip is a cast member of the film Ankle Breakers, and has since gone onto win the 2014 triple j Unearthed’s National Indigenous Music Award as Philly.
Uncle Peter. Uncle Peter is a Local Elder in Mildura and a great supporter of the Calling the Shots film project.
Gerard Veltre. Gerard is the Artistic Director of Phunktional Ltd.
